Graduand, Sheffield School of Architecture
Winner, 2024 Robert Henry Memorial Prize
Winner, 2023 West Yorkshire Society of Architects Second Year Prize
I am a Part One Architecture graduate from the University of Sheffield. I am particularly skilled at physical model making and also have good experience in digital rendering, creating feasibility reports, and CAAD.
Within architecture, my interests principally lie in cultural, education, and urban design projects and how communities can be actively involved and empowered within architecture through participatory design practices.
I am also particularly interested in the joy of craft and believe in a careful, considered, and inquisitive approach to design that responds to and draws from its local context.
On top of this, throughout my course I have worked on a range of project scales and briefs; helping me to build up a commitment for, and knowledge of, retrofit and the social and environmental value of working with existing buildings.
I have gained work experience with a range of small to medium sized practices and in 2023 was involved with Nudge- a community group based in Plymouth- and Incremental Urbanism where I created a series of scoping reports for the re-imagining of a former cinema/ nightclub into a new space for the local community (alongside other small design projects). Such an experience gave me an appreciation for the power of socially minded architecture and alternative methods of practice.
In 2021, I carried out work experience for Sheffield-based practice FromWorks where I made physical models as tools for both design development and presentation.
Outside of architecture, I enjoy getting out on my road bike, swimming in the sea, photography, and going on rural and urban walks.
